Easter affects arrivals in April
Highlights
Visitor arrivals (195,900) were up 9 percent from April 2008 (179,400).
There were more visitors from Australia (up 16,800) and Hong Kong (up 1,400), but fewer visitors from Korea (down 3,200) and Japan (down 1,100).
New Zealand-resident departures (162,400) were down 1 percent from April 2008 (164,300).
New Zealand residents departed on more trips to Australia (up 2,900), but fewer trips to Fiji (down 1,500) and China (down 1,100).
Permanent and long-term arrivals exceeded departures by 2,200 on a seasonally adjusted basis..
