Earlier holidays boost travel in March
Highlights
Visitor arrivals (243,300) were up 7 percent from March 2009 (226,500).
More visitors arrived from Australia (up 17,500) and Korea (up 2,400) in March 2010.
New Zealand residents departed on 142,700 overseas trips, up 13 percent from March 2009 (126,700).
New Zealand residents departed on more trips to Australia (up 6,000), Fiji, the United States (each up 1,400), and the United Kingdom (up 1,300).
Permanent and long-term arrivals exceeded departures by 1,000 on a seasonally adjusted basis.
