Hotels lead March increase in guest nights

Highlights

Compared with March 2009: 
  • Hotels had the largest increase in guest nights, up 5 percent.
  • Total guest nights were up 2 percent.
  • Nine of the 12 regions had higher guest nights, led by Otago, Bay of Plenty, and Canterbury. 
  • International guest nights were up 3 percent and domestic guest nights were up 2 percent.
