Building Consents Issued: June 2008

In June 2008, building consent statistics show:

• The trends for the number of new dwellings, both including and excluding apartments, have been declining since June 2007.
• 1,362 new dwellings including apartments were authorised. This is the lowest monthly number since January 2001.
• 101 new apartment units were authorised.
• Residential building work totalled $455 million.
• Non-residential building work totalled $313 million.
