Productivity Statistics: 1978−2009

Highlights

Average annual labour productivity fell 0.3 percent over the 2006–09 period, compared with annual growth of 1.9 percent from 1978–2009.		Average annual multifactor productivity fell 1.5 percent over the 2006–09 period, compared with annual growth of 0.9 percent from 1978-2009.
Average annual capital productivity fell 3.1 percent over the 2006–09 period, compared with an annual fall of 0.7 percent from 1978–2009.		After accounting for differences in the skill composition of workers, labour productivity fell 0.3 percent annually over the 2006–09 period compared with annual growth of 1.0 percent from 1998–2009.
