Food Price Index: June 2008

In June 2008, compared with May 2008:

• Food prices rose 1.3 percent.
• Fruit and vegetable prices rose 5.2 percent.
• Meat, poultry and fish prices rose 1.3 percent.
• Grocery food prices rose 0.4 percent.
• Restaurant meals and ready-to-eat food prices rose 0.6 percent.
• Non-alcoholic beverage prices fell 0.3 percent.

From June 2007 to June 2008:

• Food prices increased 8.2 percent
