Income and sales growth continues in 2007

Highlights

  • Total income for all industries for the 2007 financial year increased by 6.3 percent to $523.9 billion.
  • Total salaries and wages paid to employees across all industries increased by $4.3 billion (6.4 percent) in the 2007 financial year to $72.0 billion.
  • Total expenditure for the 2007 financial year increased by 4.5 percent to $464.2 billion.
  • Surplus before income tax across all industries is $65.8 billion. This is an increase of $11.4 billion from the 2006 financial year and is largely due to changes in non-operating items.
  • These are the first published survey results using a new industrial classification (ANZSIC06).
